Insider Dining Tips
•Bientang's Cave: Seafood Grotto Guide
•Arrive early for cliff-side tables overlooking Walker Bay – these ocean-view spots are the most sought after at Bientang's Cave.
•Order seafood platters to share for the full experience – the restaurant is famous for its fresh catches served with South African and Mediterranean influences.
•Start with smaller plates like mussels or calamari before moving to mains – pacing your meal lets you enjoy the view and ocean breeze longer.
•Consider weather conditions when booking – Bientang's unique cave setting means some tables are more sheltered than others during windy days.
•For non-seafood eaters, their burger and South African grill options make excellent alternatives while still enjoying the spectacular setting.
Insider Tip
•Visit during whale season (June-November) and book a late lunch – you'll enjoy both discounted afternoon specials and prime whale watching from your table.
