Insider Dining Tips
•Start your visit early if you want the best selection of freshly baked goods. The Courtyard's pastries often sell out by mid-morning.
•Order at the counter first, then find a table. Don't wait for table service as this is Café-style dining.
•Their artisanal coffee pairs perfectly with a pastry, but consider a light meal if you're planning a longer stay to enjoy Clarens' scenery.
•The outdoor seating area offers mountain views that complement the experience. Indoor tables are cozier during cooler Clarens mornings.
•Don't rush - The Courtyard embraces the relaxed Free State pace. Bring a book or prepare to people-watch.
Insider Tip
•Ask about their coffee card - regulars know The Courtyard offers a stamp card that gives you a free coffee after purchasing several cups.
