Insider Dining Tips
•The Oyster Box High Tea Etiquette
•Reservations are essential for The Palm Court's coveted afternoon tea experience, especially for weekends when tables fill up weeks in advance.
•The tea service is structured in two seatings: morning (10:30am-12:30pm) and afternoon (2:30pm-4:30pm), so plan your visit accordingly.
•Start with savory treats from the buffet before indulging in the sweet selections - this follows proper high tea progression and balances flavors.
•Don't miss the hotel's signature curry station, a unique addition to their high tea that sets The Oyster Box apart from traditional offerings.
•Take time to explore the tea menu thoroughly; their selection includes rare single-estate varieties that perfectly complement both sweet and savory items.
•The dress code leans smart-casual - while not strictly enforced, locals know The Oyster Box merits dressing up slightly for the full experience.
Insider Tip
•Book the "High Tea and Spa" package for R750 per person to combine your tea experience with a 30-minute treatment at their award-winning spa.
