Insider Dining Tips
•Wason Chinese and Sushi Restaurant: Asian Dining Decoded
•Order family-style for Chinese dishes - 3-4 dishes for a group of four allows everyone to sample different flavors.
•For sushi, start with lighter options (cucumber maki, California rolls) before moving to richer items like salmon nigiri or specialty rolls.
•Balance your meal by including dishes from different cooking methods - steamed dumplings, wok-fried noodles, and grilled teriyaki.
•Don't mix wasabi directly into your soy sauce at Wason - this is considered improper in authentic Asian dining.
•When sharing, use the wide end of chopsticks (not your eating end) to take food from communal plates.
•Rest chopsticks on the provided holder between bites, never sticking them upright in rice (considered bad luck).
Insider Tip
•Order Wason's "Bento Box Special" available Monday-Thursday lunch hours (12-3pm) for R95 - includes four items of your choice plus miso soup.
