“Breathing is our participation with the cosmic dance. When our breath is in harmony, cosmos nourishes us in every sense.†? Amit Ray, This is a half day retreat for those wanting a morning of relaxation and deeper connection. Take a deep inhale and a soft slow exhale, this breath a doorway into your body, the temple of being. Slow down, feel your body on the earth, the beat of your heart and the rhythm of your breath stepping through the doorway into into the vastness within. Retreat into quiet, into breath, into your temple in a morning of Yin yoga, Conscious Breathwork and Yoga Nidra. Through the quietude of Yin and Yoga Nidra we will root into ease and relaxation, releasing tension, calming the mind, down regulating your nervous system into a space of receptivity where your body remembers the natural rhythm of being, grounding yourself in each breath. In a world of doing, stillness is a remembering what it is to simply be, a union of body, heart and mind. Breath is fundamental to life. Using the breath as a tool to direct and expand this life force consciously and with intention, deep transformation can occur, a reconnection, a recalibration of the fragmented self. Conscious Breathwork is a profound therapeutic process of re-connection and integration of subconscious and conscious, a pathway to healing and self discovery. Step into the doorway and into the temple. About your hosts: Berry has over 20 years of Reiki and holistic healing experience and is passionate about creating a safe and nurturing space for self discovery and self healing. Carla has been teaching yoga and somatic for nearly 20 year. She weaves together science and philosophy, energy and anatomy to create a space in which embodied healing can occur. This is a space of integration.

Yoga is a beautiful practice of getting the body in motion in order to remember your innate connection to all that is. It is a shortcut to the receptive mode, which is the delicious vantage point from which we stop pinching ourselves off from all that we are desiring and asking for from life. The frustration of feeling disconnected from your creativity is one all creatives know – whether it’s through a state of just being uninspired, not having the capacity to create, or the blunt feeling of creative resistance that shows up when we feel like our ideas are not good – or ready or novel or refined – enough. The disconnection becomes exacerbated when we feel pulled in every direction by work, school, and other facets of the enigma that is being an adult. When we experience this kind of fatigue – which shows up emotionally and mentally – the go-to remedy of sleep alone is not enough to revive our exhausted and burnt out creative selves. Mindfulness practices are the medicine and provide mental, spiritual and creative rest – three of the seven kinds of rest – through quieting the busy mind, and cultivating stillness that allows us to return to our bodies. A return to your creativity is really coming home to yourself and reawakening to your abundance. On June 12th, we gather for one hour to create space for your mind to let go, to release the tension of expectation, and to allow re-emergence into curiosity. The yoga flow will draw awareness to the physical tension we might be holding in the body, and as we soften we give our minds the opportunity to do nothing and simply be. The only request is to arrive as you are because all that matters is how you choose to show up in the present. Who would you be if you showed up for yourself? Bring along your journal and pen for a reflection session after the 40-min yoga flow. Vuyo Mthetho is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher and creative conduit. Her approach to yoga and creativity is centred around the concept of "disconnect to reconnect", inspiring practitioners towards reawakening intuition and the body's innate intelligence.
